Some Golf Tips For You

by Lee MacRae

Here are some great tips to help improve your game from tee-off to the final hole.

Don't try and hit the ball hard. Simply hitting the ball as hard as you can results in a tense and inefficient physical swing. You can end up achieving the opposite of what you wanted and land the ball way short. A relaxed swing and a relaxed attitude will achieve more accuracy and generally more distance.

Once you hit a shot you must stop and read what you just did and you must read it correctly. You must be in a balanced finish to read it properly, so you can check your alignment in case the shot is off line. As you stand in a perfectly balanced finish and watch your ball, ask yourself: how does my balance feel, how was the brush, how was the path, was the clubface in the correct position, and did I hit it in the center of the clubface? Then, either focus more on what is missing, or play it and go fix it after the round. You will only be able to accomplish 8 to 10 perfect shots per round, so be mentally prepared!

Everyone always learns the rule to play your drive off the inside of your front foot's heel. While this is good general advice, it is really just positioning the ball so that it is hit on the upswing, rather than downswing like an iron. The reason is that woods have a very low angle to the clubface (as opposed to irons), and need a "lift" at impact to create the optimal trajectory. I would have someone watch your swing while facing you and try to pinpoint where your swing bottoms out. Position the ball just after that point.

Work on these tips and make sure you tee off with a positive mindset. The more you practice and implement what you learn, the more confidence you will gain in your ability to hit it straight and long. And watch your scores begin to plummet!

Most golfers tend to wear a golf glove. The golf glove is normally worn on the other hand to your master hand; therefore if you are right handed you would wear the glove on your left hand. The glove is there to prevent the club from slipping in your hand and assist you in getting a better grip on the club. There are various types of glove available, you need to ensure that the glove is a good fit and is like a secondary piece of skin.

Golf involves the swinging of hard clubs, which propel hard balls at high speeds. If you're in the way of either the clubs or the balls, you're in danger.

proper golf grip

golf carts Comfort is of course a major consideration when choosing golf shoes. You're going to be traipsing across eighteen fairways (or more), and you don't need to be doing that in blisters. A good grip and solid support are also important in picking out golf shoes. As with many sports, a good base (your feet) can make all the difference in the world. Proper foot positioning, and support, are essentially the beginnings of a great golf swing. The pros, or staff at a good golf equipment store can be helpful in choosing a pair of golf shoes that are appropriate for you. Don't be afraid to spend in this category, as it is practically impossible to blow the bank on a pair of shoes, and your feet will love you for it.
